The Spain's most important tourism fair grows by 8%. International participation also grows by 13. New countries will participate this year 2018 with new presentations. The national presence also increases by 3%.
This FITUR 2018 incorporates a new segment, called FITUR FestivalsThe new market niches are the result of increasing specialisation and the search for new market niches.
The economic impact of this fair will be 260 million euros during its 5 days of celebration.
FITUR 2018 celebrates record figures both globally and domestically. According to UNWTO figures, the world's tourist destinations received 1.1 billion international tourists between January and October 2016, an increase of 7% over the same period last year.
Spain registers a new record. Up to last November, 77.8 million international tourists had visited our country, a figure that represents an increase of 9.1%. Tourist expenditure has also grown by 12.9%, with revenues of 82,293 million euros.
FITUR 2018 GROWTH
This space will occupy 65,500 sqm, 4% more than 2016, exceeding 10,000 participating companies from 165 countries and regions, bringing the number of headline exhibitions to 816, representing an overall growth of 8%.
The regions that have increased their share are Africa, Asia Pacific and Europe.
The new countries participating in this year's FITUR 2018 are Syria, Sao Tome and Principe, Bangladesh, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Other countries that were represented, but not officially, are Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bolivia, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Latvia, Mauritius, Puerto Rico and Ukraine, who will be officially represented this year.
