What is the programme
Digital Kit?
In order to mitigate the negative economic impacts generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Spain has presented the Economic Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. This project, financed by the European Union through the Next Generation EU programme funds, aims to modernise and stimulate the recovery of economic growth through reforms and investments in different areas. These measures focus on boosting entrepreneurship, business growth, digitisation, the incorporation of artificial intelligence and strengthening digital skills, with a special focus on small businesses, microenterprises and self-employed people.
Within this plan, component 13, called "Boosting SMEs", leads to the creation of the Digital Spain 2025 strategy. This updated strategy seeks to promote Spain's digital transformation as a key element to revitalise economic growth, reduce inequality, increase productivity and take advantage of the opportunities offered by new technologies. The strategy includes around 50 measures grouped into ten strategic axes, with the sixth axis being "Accelerating the digitalisation of companies", with a special focus on micro-SMEs and start-ups.
In order to give a strong boost to the digitisation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the SME Digitisation Plan 2021-2025 has been created, the first measure of which is the Digital Kit programme. This programme aims to finance the adoption of commercially available digitisation solutions, provided by Digital Agents, for small businesses, micro-enterprises and self-employed individuals. This will facilitate a significant advancement in their digital maturity levels, enabling them to progress in key areas such as internet presence, e-sales, customer and supplier management, digital office, process management and automation, and cybersecurity, through the subsidisation of digitisation solutions offered by Digitisation Agents participating in the programme.
